Jesse

I looked up as Natalia came back in. "Come to check me?" I asked, rolling my eyes a little.

"I did." I went over to a chair and sat down "You're still upset with me, I see."

"Of course I am, did you expect me not to be?"

"I'm sorry that I brought Anna Maria into the conversation but you wouldn't listen any other way."

"She's just like her mom..." I said, trailing off a little. "She's nothing like me. She doesn't have an angry bone in her body."

"You have a right to be angry, you and Rex both. I just don't want to see you take your anger out on the wrong ones."

"I've never seen any evidence that they're not all the same. What do you want me to go on, faith?" -Jesse

"Maybe if you would bother to go down and see those two sirens you would feel differently."

"I don't see how. Of course they're gonna look vulnerable right now, they're hurt. They're not gonna show their true personalities when they're not at full strength and at our mercy." -Jesse

I shook my head "If those sirens wanted to hurt Dom don't you think they would have by now?"

"I'm not about to argue with you Nat, you always win anyway," I said, rolling my eyes. "We have different opinions, be glad I'm letting them stay." -Jesse

I smirked at him "If I always win, why did you even bother earlier?" I teased him.

"I like to at least attempt to retain my dignity," I said, sitting down on my bed. I put my head in my hands. "I know... I know she wouldn't want me... to be like this. But I can't help it. Every time I think about what happened... I get so angry I can barely breathe."

"I get angry too, and I miss her so badly sometimes it's hard to control my sadness." I looked at him "I don't blame you for still being angry, Jesse. You know you can always talk to me."

"Yeah but it doesn't help. It just makes the pain worse. Talking about her... remembering her... all these years and the pain's never gone away."

"Then how about you lay down and rest and I'll bring you something to eat?"

"Lay down so I can dream about her? Why do you think I barely sleep. I can get myself something to eat Nat, don't worry about it."

"Fine. Just sit there and I'll still bring you something, just to get back on your good side."

I shook my head. "And since when do you care about getting on my good side?" I asked, smiling just a little.

"Believe it or not, I don't like it when you get upset with me." I smiled back at him.

"Why not?"

I shrugged "I just don't, you've been a friend for awhile now."

"Well I don't get upset with you very often. And like I said, you always win."

"Since I always win does that mean you'll let me bring you dinner?"
